Killick’s Testimony
A native of the Tide Flat area north of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, I had my first real exposure to the gospel at Vacation Bible School taught by missionaries to Haiti from Anderson, Indiana. I received Jesus as my personal Savior when I was a junior in high school. After attending technical school to study Electronics, I worked for Radio Lumiere, a Christian Radio Network in Haiti.
Nehemie’s Testimony
Meanwhile, in the South of Haiti, I grew up in a Christian home where the Word of God was taught daily. I received Jesus as my Savior in elementary school and was involved in church at an early age. Later, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Applied Linguistics from the State University of Haiti, followed by a master’s degree in teaching French.
Our Testimony
Through God’s providence, we met at a Christian youth camp and were married in December 1992. Our family grew with the birth of three children: Annie, Elodie, and Nathanael. In pursuit of what we believed was a better life for our family, we moved to Colorado in June 2009 planning to live and eventually retire there. But as we would learn later, that was not God’s plan.
While living in Colorado, we made connections with many fellow Haitians and have been actively evangelizing and discipling them. But even as we pursued our life in the United States, the Lord began to turn our hearts toward the lost souls we left behind in Haiti. In the summer of 2017, Nehemie made the first of three annual trips to Haiti to host a Vacation Bible School in her hometown of Le Cayes. Hundreds of children heard the gospel, and to date, more than 500 children have been saved. Killick joined Nehemie for the 2018 VBS, and it was during the course of this endeavor that we both felt the undeniable call of God to return to our homeland of Haiti as full-time missionaries.
Though we are confronted with sacrificing the comforts of life in America, we are not deterred, knowing that these sacrifices are small in light of the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. We joyfully offer this living sacrifice as our reasonable service, Romans 12:1. And Jesus commands us to go in Matthew 28:19-20. There are souls at stake, new believers and immature believers to be discipled, and the next generation to teach.
We are very excited to be instruments in God’s hands to further His kingdom wherever we are, and especially in Haiti. May His name be glorified and lifted high in everything we do! Amen!
Nathanael’s Testimony
I was born and lived in Haiti for the first five years of my life. While I was still young, my parents taught me about God, and my mother shared the plan of salvation with me. When I was about five years old, I received Jesus in my heart as my Savior.
While living in the United States, I have traveled to Haiti the last three years with my parents to help with an annual VBS. It has been good for me to see how difficult life is for the children in Haiti, but it has been a great joy seeing kids’ lives changed for eternity! When I was in eighth grade, I had the opportunity to start working in a Good News Club at a local school. This experience opened my heart to ministry with children, so I enrolled in a leadership and evangelism training program with Christian Youth in Action in 2018. When we are on the mission field full time, I plan to work with the kids at VBS programs and help my dad with the technological aspects of the ministry.
